“The Cemetery contains six marked graves and one unmarked grave depression. Five of the marked graves in the cemetery belong to German POWs originally held at Camp Campbell during WWII; the sixth marked grave belongs to an African-American civilian named William Dennis (1823-1899). The Army originally established a cemetery specifically for the interment of POWs near the present-day location of the Family Resource Center on Fort Campbell. That cemetery was moved to its current location in 1946.”
