“The Quartette Club (then called the “Quartet Club”) was founded in 1891 as a German singing society. In the 1930s, there were three German singing societies in the City of New Britain; The Maennerchor, the Donau Society and the Quartette Club. They would routinely sing in competition with each other, and with other singing groups in New England and New York. It has since evolved into a social & charitable club with members throughout Connecticut. The Quartette Club looks to the future while preserving its history and tradition.”
