The Max Kade Center for German-American Studies:
- Curates significant collections of books, archives, artifacts, and artwork broadly related to the German-speaking migrant and exile experience in the U.S. Partners with other KU units and community organizations to make these collections available to students and scholars.
- Collaborates with campus, community, national, and international partners to foster interdisciplinary inquiry into global issues at the heart of the Center’s collections: transnational migration and exile, democracy and anti-authoritarianism, and multilingualism.
- Provides an open and welcoming gathering space for the cultivation and sharing of ideas through outreach and programming, such as guest speakers, cultural events, collections highlights, and more.
- Utilizes its space, collections, and programming to provide opportunities for student engagement and connection, professional development, and hands-on training.
