“The Sängerchor German men’s choir was founded in Newark, NJ October 1925 by a group of ten men motivated to preserve the tradition of “männer gesang verein” singing the songs and music of the “Old Country”. Their efforts led to great success and by 1950 the chorus had over 100 active members.”
